MSC Cruises Proposes $450 Million Freeport Development
MSC Cruises has announced a landmark $450 million investment proposal in Freeport, Grand Bahama, centered on the Billy Cay area. The project includes new cruise berths, a welcome plaza, retail and dining facilities, entertainment venues, transportation staging, and a purpose-built beach club. Bahamian Prime Minister Philip Davis confirmed that the government has “signed and advanced” the agreement, describing the initiative as a “serious expansion with real scale.” Approximately $400 million will fund the new cruise complex, while $50 million will support upgrades to Freeport Harbour and the existing retail village.
